Grúpa 2002

Is iad na páistí sa Ghrúpa 2002 an grúpa is sine san Acadamh. Thosaíomar sa Halla i 2007 ach anois bímid amuigh faoin aer ar an Satharn i bPáirc de hÍde agus i Loretto Deilginis ar an gCéadaoin.

Bíonn breis is 100 páiste – idir bhuachaillí agus chailíní – againn maidin Sathairn agus thart ar 25 gach Céadaoin. Tá dul chun cinn iontach déanta ag na páistí ina bhforbairt scileanna agus taitneamh níos mó á baint acu as na seisiúin dá réir.

Imrímid bliotsanna le clubanna eile timpeall na cathrach go rialto san iomáint agus a pheil. Is féidir linn é seo go léir a dhéanamh mar go bhfaighimid tacaíocht iontach ó na tuismitheoirí.

Tá fáilte roimh imreoirí nua ach a dtuismitheoirí a bheith sásta éirí páirteach agus cabhrú linn san obair seo.

The children in the 2002 age group are now the oldest in the Academy section. We started off in the Cuala hall in 2007 and have now progressed to outdoors training on the pitches at Hyde Road (Sat) and Loreto Dalkey (mid-week).

On average, we have about 100 -110 girls and boys training at Hyde road every Saturday morning, with a smaller group of 20 – 30 on Wednesday evenings. We teach the children both hurling and Gaelic football skills for about 40 mins of each training session, usually followed by a few short matches. As the children have grown over the last two years, they are now able to partake in more rigorous skill drills. The improvement in both their skills and enjoyment is clearly evident both during training and in playing matches.

We regularly partake in blitzes with other GAA clubs around the city. These blitzes involve both Hurling and Gaelic football and the children get great enjoyment playing for their club at these events. All this is made possible by the fantastic support and parental involvement that allows us to have a good number of coaches, mentors and admin people to keep the Age Group running smoothly.
