On Sunday, Sep 13th, we’ll see a large group of Cuala’s finest young talents heading down to a hurling tournament hosted by Ballinkillen Hurling Club in Carlow.

The tournament is being held in honour of Eoghan and Ruari Chada, who were keen hurlers at the club before their tragic deaths.

We at Cuala consider it a great honour to have been asked to this unique tournament, which will see our  teams competing at u8 , u10 and u12 levels. There’s an emphasis on participation across all age groups, as the winners of the tournament will be the club that does best when combining results from the u8, u10 and u12 matches.

This is a very busy time for all the age groups with the start of the season for Go Games and Leagues all back in action, and so we’ve shown the usual Cuala initiative and rearranged matches, combined squads from different age groups, had mentors taking and making calls on their holidays abroad all to make sure we send a good representation from Cuala down to this special event.

It looks like it will be a great day with plenty of side events on for the lads to take part in while they’re not at their match. Among the side attractions there’ll be wall ball games, target shooting and possibly even some well known hurlers around on the day.

So good luck to all the lads making the trip, and many thanks to Ballinkillen for inviting us along.
