| U14Bs Win
Feile Football Final
A great team performance saw Cuala U14B's win their Féle
final against St Vincents in Parnell Park by a scoreline 2-03 to
0-06. A 2nd half penalty strike by Cuala's half forward Conor
Tiernan proved the decisive score. Vincents piled on the
pressure after this but only managed to score a point finding it
very hard to battle through a solid defence and outstanding goalie.
Well done to this great bunch of lads who have trained extremely
hard over the years and have finally got their just rewards.

Cuala U14's win Nemo Tournament (Again)
Cuala's U 14A football team won the Mick O'Brien
Memorial Tournament which was hosted by Nemo Rangers in
Cork and played over the weekend 16/17 February, 2008. This is the
second year in a row that Cuala have won this competition. The competition
included teams from Kerry, Gaelteacht and Austin Stacks, Corks',
Nemo Rangers and Macroom and St. Vincents and Cuala from Dublin.
Cuala's first game on Saturday was against Cork opponents Macroom
which they won 4-14 to 2-01. The second game that afternoon was
against Kerry opponents Austin Stacks which resulted in another
comprehensive victory of 6-12 to 1-02. These scorelines do not reflect
the highly competitive nature of these games, but the oppositions
brought out the best out of the Cuala team who played some of their
best football ever. These outstanding results meant that Cuala reached
Sundays Tournament final against Kerry opponents Gaelteacht.
In the Sunday final Cuala produced another outstanding performance
winning by a scoreline of 4-13 to 0-04. Gaelteacht were a very good
footballing team and displayed some great all round skills but were
no match for the Cuala boys. The Cup was presented to Cuala's captain
Cillian O'Farrell by Cork football hero Colin
Corkery and Stephen O'Brien,
son of the late Mick O'Brien who the competition
has been named after. Cuala's Colm Begley was also
awarded player of the tournament for his outstanding performance
in the overall competition.
A great weekend was had by all the team, mentors and loyal band
of supporters who would like to thank Nemo Rangers for their hospitality.

U14B's Hit the Heights in Carlingford
The U14Bs enjoyed an action- packed weekend away at Carlingford
Lough last weekend. Activities included raft-building, kayaking,
night line through the woods blind-folded - topped off by high ropes
which even the mentors attempted. The fear on Ciaran Irwin's face
as he reached the
top of a 30 ft pole was a sight to behold (Ciaran insists it was
a look of determination). A big thank you to mentors Barry Tiernan,
Kevin Kennedy, Ciaran Irwin and John Ryan. See for yourself in the
Cuala

2008 U13s Do It Again
Not since the time of Gregory XIII have we seen someone
who has such command of the calendar. Just how John McKeown
organised Saturday's Under 13 Presentations (celebrating their sucess
in the Shield) to coincide with the very day they landed the League,
would leave Gallileo himself in awe. And yet, that's exactly what
happened. So it was some party back at Áras Cuala when the
Kingdom's very own Michael Spillane dispensed marginally
more medals that he has received himself. Well done to the boys,
their mentors and supporters.
