Cuala Ladies Get Silver!

Cuala Ladies were runners-up in the 4th Annual Marianne
Costello Memorial Tournament held at Naomh Peregrin`s fine
facility in Blakestown. Eight teams were invited for this well-organised
9-a-side event, and the Cuala squad of 12 showed no lack of fitness
as well as great skill in over-coming the hosts and Lucan Sarsfields
in the group games, going on to beat St. Maurs in the semis and
thus qualify to meet Round Towers Clondalkin in the final. However,
Towers whom we had lost to earlier, again came out on top in an
entertaining final despite the tactical management of Elizabeth
Gregan and Stephen McGovern, and the strong leadership on the pitch
from captain Sarah Egan. The hosts are to be complimented on the
standard of organisation and hospitality on the day. All in all,
a positive boost for the Cuala Ladies ahead of the forthcoming season!

Happy New Year & Welcome Back to all our players, mentors & parents.
We hope that this year is as successful and enjoyable as 2009!
This year we look after 3 teams: Under 16, Adult and the Gaelic-for-Mothers
team.
Highlights of 2009
In 2009, Cuala was delighted to be one of three clubs hosting
the first day of the Dublin Feile on the Saturday
of the 2009 May Bank Holiday weekend. This was considered a great
success and we hope that we can look forward to more of such opportunities
in the future.
The Gaelic For Mothers (G4M) initiative
was set up in 2009 which saw mothers and friends playing Ladies
Gaelic Football in a fun, non-competitive and social environment.Details

The 2009 Under 14 team had a successful
year reaching the final of the Division 2 Championship losing out
to a strong Thomas Davis team. Congratulations to coaches, Aidan
& Kevin, on a respectable mid-table league finishing position. Good
Luck to all as they proceed up to Under 16 in 2010!
The 2009 Under 16 team had a good year
with thanks to Stephen & Joe. A large squad of 28 girls was well
managed and finished mid-table in Division 2. We had less luck in
the Championship but got as far as the semi-finals in the Shield.
Good Luck to all the girls who proceed to the Adult team and to
the younger girls who will be part of the 2010 Under 16 team!
