While Cuala Minor Bs lost by a big score there were many positives to be taken away from Silver Park. In the first half Jack McCarthy, Maurice Goodwin, Ben Nugent, Fiachra Ó Brolcháin and Seán MacAodh and second half subs Mike Shanahan, Karl Barry, Owen Bourke and Brian Barry were involved in some excellent attacking play but Cuala were unlucky not to put more on the scoreboard than great points from Declan O’Rourke and Andrew Brady. Nevertheless Barry Sheanon never faltered in his efforts to punch a hole in the rugged Crokes’ defence. Both halves saw excellent defensive play from Cianan Crowley, Donal Ennis, Cillian Whelan, Oisín Breathnach and Tagdh Blake with a man of the match performance from Greg Egan. Briain Ó Ruairc was outstanding in goal and had time for a surging attacking run in the first half.
