I'm not sure about you but I'm looking forward to the summer break:
The Under 10 boys (2000s) rounded off this part of the season in
the now traditional way with a Mini All Ireland competition in Thomastown
over the last week. The lads continue to show great determination
and enthusiasm, and no little skill, both in the Mini All Ireland
and in their regular Go Games each Saturday.
The girls juvenile pre summer season is almost at a close with only
the U14s (1996s) still in action with one remaining camogie league
game to secure a play-off for second spot in their league. There
were some great league campaigns overall with the U11s (1999s) coming
second in their football league and the U13s (1997s) in joint top
spot in their camogie league with a play-off after the summer. The
U10s (2000s) also put in some great performances winning most of
their camogie and football games in non competitive leagues. The
Under 12 (1998) Girls also secured second place in the Division
2 Camogie League, and promotion to Division 1, with a hard fought
victory over Raheny last Saturday. Alongside retaining their Div
1 status in Football, this was a great achievement by the girls
and a great return on all of their hard work in training and matches.
A number of the younger juvenile boys groups will be having informal
puc and cic arounds over the summer break. Please check with mentors
to see if anything is planned for your age group. If you are not
staying with your lad, always make sure the session is on before
leaving them out of the car as mentors need a break as well and
there will be some sessions that do not take place.
All players from 5 to 15 don’t forget the Cuala Summer Camp
starts next Monday! So if you forget to register do today, call
Susan in the office rom 9.30 to 12.30 at 2350717 or come on down
on Monday morning before the rush at 9.30 and register on the day.
Well done to the U15's (1995's) their "A" team had a 4
point win over Kilmacud Crokes in Hurling last Sunday morning and
their "B" team a good win over Lucan sarsfield on Tuesday
night. The "A"s also had a great win over Ballyboden in
the league on Thursday
Senior Footballers continue their league campaign with an away league
match at St Marks on Saturday evening. Throw in 6.30 , all support
welcome.
The Cuala Ladies were beaten by St Finian's last Wednesday who had
their revenge on the drubbing given to them in Hyde Rd last week.
. A penalty awarded in the dying moments gave Cuala a goal which
took the bare look of the scoreline so we came away with a 5 point
deficit, 0-16 to 1-08. Probably no game next week as the opponents
have pulled out of the League.
Here's something for the girls - there is 10% off for Cuala girls
enrolling with www.sewingdublin.com. Something to keep you busy
over the summer and make something useful too? (boys welcome too!)
