Cuala successfully defended their division 1 crown as the 2013/2014 title holders of the Garden of Ireland Hurling Tournament U15 (99s) in last Sunday’s finals held in the splendid setting of Wicklow’s Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill, Co. Wicklow.  This is a winter competition that is run through Dec – Feb by the Wicklow Hurling Development Squad Committee. In the final Cuala overcame the Kildare County U15’s in a tough encounter. Cuala finished the game with a tally of Cuala 5-10 to Kildare’s 3-7.  Some splendid performances particularly from Diarmaid O’Floinn, Eoin Kennedy, George O’Brien, Peadar O’Cofaigh Byrne, Michael Johnson, Tadhg Sheridan, Andy Tobin, Finn McGowan, Eoghan Potts and Jack Twomey.  Our appreciation to Wicklow’s Sean Hayes (former Cuala man) for the invitation and to all his WDS committee members and for their hospitality. Here’s a nice pic of the team

  • Good luck to Cian, Colm, Paul, Mark and David as the Dublin Hurlers take on Kilkenny in the NHL on Sunday. With one All Ireland finalist beaten – the Dubs wont be taken for granted by a new-look Kilkenny team.
  • Well done to Michael Fitzsimons and the Dublin Senior Footballers on their Victory over Donegal in the League
