• It took two double decker buses to transport the Cuala juvenile girls into Croke Park last weekend to see Dublin claim their first ever Ladies football senior All Ireland title and to support the Cuala Gaelic 4 Mothers team at half time in the senior game. Over 160 players, grandparents, parents and siblings travelled in and the Cuala mothers didn’t disappoint with a 2-1 to 0-0 win over Dromragh from Tyrone. Highlights of the game will be shown on RTE’s Capital D programme tonight at 7.00pm
  • Cuala Ladies have had a brilliant weekend bringing home their first ALL IRELAND honours in the All Ireland Junior 7s. After seeing off the opposition in the Round and with Hannah Ging’s tremendous point in the tie breaker ‘shoot out’ the girls saw off the challenge of Menlough/Skehana to take on Caltra/Cuans in the final. There was just 3 points difference at the final whistle which saw our girls pick up the silver medals. Cuala were the only Dublin Club which picked up an award across all three grades and only the fourth Dublin Club to feature in the Junior All Ireland 7s since it started in ’98. Well Done!
  • Many thanks to Denis Monaghan who gave the U14 girls a talk during the week on balancing their family, school, sporting and social activities and gave the girls some excellent study methods. The talk was very well received by players and parents alike.
  • Sunday was All Ireland day – and weren’t the Girls in Blue great! To add to the excitement the Cuala Gaelic 4 mothers took on Tyrone’s G4Ms from Drumragh [the Tyrone captain’s club] and had 95% possession of the ball in the half time exhibition game. Our G4Ms scored 2-1 in the 10 minute game without a Tyrone reply. You can follow the Cuala G4Ms on Capital D [RTE1] at 7pm this Thursday 30th September.
