Cuala Weekly News

The US election excitement might be over but we have some electing of our own to do over the coming weeks. First to the team news:
Team of the week are our Minor Hurlers who beat a fancied Kilmacud Crokes team last Sunday in the MHC A Championship to reach the final against Ballyboden on 16th November (Parnell Park?). On a scoreline of Crokes 2-9 to Cuala 3-12 the result was comprehensive! So all roadworthy vehicles should be readied, all red and white flag sourced, jerseys washed, klaxons tested and supporters rested for what promises to be a great day out. More details next week.

The Juvenile Girls competitive season draws to an end this weekend with two titles up for grabs. The U10s (1998) footballers play the D2 Shield Final on Saturday against St. Maurs at 1.30pm in O’Tooles. Please support the girls as they try to add the Shield title to their D2 league title. A social event will be held in the Club after the final to mark the end of the season. On Sunday our U12 (1996) footballers play in their D2 Shield Final against Clontarf at 1.30pm in Silver Park. Please support the girls as they try to go one better than last year when they lost in the final to the same opposition. A social event will also be held in the Club after this final to mark the end of the season for both the 1996 and 1997 football and camogie panels.

U13 Girls are playing in the Div 2 Championship final this Saturday against Ballinteer St.Johns. The game will be played at the Lucan Sarsfields GAA (12th Lock) with 1:30pm thrown-in. Good luck Girls.

U13B Footballers won a crucial league match last Saturday with a super all-round performance against Naomh Barrog. Next Saturday, they play St.Patrick’s Palmerstown in the semi-final of the Shield at 3pm Thomastown. All support welcome as the lads attempt to reach their 2nd of 3 finals in a month.

Well done to U13 hurlers Kevin Killion, Andrew Murphy, Jack Behan, Colm O’Luing, Kyle Braine and Sean Treacy who were part of the Dublin U13 Development squad who had a comprehensive victory over Kildare on Sunday last.

The boys U14A Footballers were involved in a very exciting league match against Naomh Mearnog in Thomastown last Saturday. While the Cuala lads have their Div 1 status already secured for next year, Nh Mearnog required the victory in their attempt to avoid relegation. In the end Cuala lost by 1 point with a final scoreline of Cuala 2-12 Nh Mearnog 3-10.
