Hello Cuala Patrons

Well the Dubs having made it after an absence of 16 years from the football final. And well done to Michael Fitzsimons who seemed to be alone in having someone to mark in his end of the field. Next Sunday is also a huge day for some Cuala lads:

  • Good luck to Colm Cronin, Ben Errity, Cian O’Callaghan and Ross Tierney, as well as all the Dublin Minor hurling team as they bid for All Ireland glory next Sunday at Croke Park.
  • Excellent performances by our under 15 Dublin hurlers in last Saturday’s Leinster blitz:Con O’Callaghan, Dáithí O’Murchú,Jake Malone and Donal Lane. They did the club proud in a tremendous win against the North u 15s.
  • The U16A Hurlers are top of Division 1 and face 2nd place Ballyboden Away on Saturday. A win will secure the league title with one match left to play. The U16Bs have a tough encounter out against Round-Towers.
  • The Cuala Senior hurlers will be taking part in the All Ireland Sevens this weekend . Here is the fixture list if anyone can make it up up to Naomh Olaf on Saturday,
Group 5 – Naomh Olaf T
10:30am    Cuala  vs Roscrea (Tipperary)
11:30am    Mullagh (Galway) vs Cuala
12:30am    Cuala  vs Mooncoin (Kilkenny)
  • Now the question you are all asking me. Details of All Ireland Final tickets will be on the Cuala website on Sunday evening next so please follow the guidance.
  • This year will be the 19th year of the Cuala Corporate Lunch and whatever about the football, this one is all ready shaping up to be a classic. Held annually on the Friday before the All-Ireland Football final (16th September), the MC is none other than our own Des Cahill. Des has managed up to line up 3 of the biggest names in Kerry football as guests,Bomber Liston, Mikey Sheehy and Darragh O Sé, who will bring plenty of craic and just a few All Ireland medals from the Kingdom. In order to balance the equation, we can expect a few famous names from Dublin teams of the past too. More on that next week. It promises to be plain mighty. Maybe Mikey will bring a ball and chip Paddy from the car park?  Tickets for Corporate groups are available from Peadar McAdam (087 2345393). If anyone wants individual tickets, then contact Johnny Sheanon (086 2665197).

All for this week – good luck to the Premier and the Cats
