The Cuala u15 boys had a great team victory over Oliver Plunketts in their division 1 fixture on Tuesday night in the Phoenix park. The constant change in weather conditions didn’t bother the lads as they started explosively into the first half quickly taking a 3 point lead. Points from Liam Murphy, Tom Handrick and a goal from Kevin Kirwan brought the lads into half time with a 9 point lead. Plunketts weren’t going down without a fight however and the 9 point lead soon became 3. But, Cuala pulled back their lead with Tadhg Quinn and Jack McCarthy giving their opposite numbers the hard task of marking them popping points over for fun. The brick wall of a full back line being orchestrated by Cormac Spain in nets forced the north side team to shoot for points letting nothing get past them easily. Michael Conroy and Ruairi Sheanon both showed masterclasses on how to play in midfield running like animals. A superb point from Eoin O’Callaghan finished off the opposition with the score finishing 1-18 to 2-9. The lads are going strong at the moment doing the club proud with their high standard team efforts and impressive wins.
