This photograph was taken by one of the parents of the Cuala U16 Hurlers training session in Stepaside on Tuesday 10th February at 9.30pm. There were 22 players and 6 mentors undertaking an extensive hurling skills training program in the arctic conditions. The snow was blowing horizontally as the gale whipped across the all-weather pitch. The main difficulty was finding the sliothars in the snow! The guys enjoyed it thoroughly…one ‘macho-man’ took his top off for one of the drills…but wasn’t long in putting it back on again!
Since posting this photo, a Senior Hurling Manager with a prominent Club in the Deise has contacted us looking for a copy of the Photo to to show his own players how the U16 Cuala Hurlers trained on a night when his players didn’t train because of the conditions…
The Cuala U16’s are made of sterner stuff!
